About this site

North Point sits at the northern tip of Bangu Island within the Similan Islands chain, part of the Mu Ko Similan National Park off the Andaman coast of Phang Nga province in southern Thailand. The site is reached by boat from liveaboards or day trips running out of the Khao Lak area on the mainland. It is a rocky site with a maximum depth of around 30 metres, rated advanced due to strong currents, and visibility is generally good. Leopard sharks, octopus, and sea turtles are commonly encountered here, and divers have also reported barracuda, cuttlefish, fusiliers, ghost pipefish, guitarfish, manta rays, mantis shrimp, pipehorses, reef sharks, stingrays, trevally, tuna, and even whale sharks passing through.
