About this site
El Fanadir sits along the Red Sea coast near Hurghada, off a headland in the Red Sea Governorate of Egypt, where local operators run boats out to this stretch of reef and wall. It is a beginner site reaching a maximum depth of around 15.2 metres. Divers have reported frogfish, lionfish, octopus, pipefish, scorpionfish, stonefish and sweetlips along the wall, and there have even been sightings of tuna, manta ray and hammerhead shark in the area.
