About this site
Heibu Ne (へいぶ根) is a boat-dive pinnacle northeast of Jogashima on the Miura Peninsula, Kanagawa, next to Higashijima Ne, three minutes from the harbour, with a maximum depth of 23 m. It is a large bedrock reef with its top at 15 m and sand at the base at 27 m, and it holds up in wind and waves so well that it can be dived in anything short of a typhoon. Calm conditions; suitable from beginner level. Being close to Kagura Takane it sees pelagics fairly often, along with striped beakfish and largescale blackfish, and it is rich in macro life such as shrimps, crabs and nudibranchs, suiting slow photography dives.
