About this site
Higashijima Ne (東島根) is a boat-dive pinnacle at Jogashima on the Miura Peninsula, Kanagawa, three minutes from the harbour, with a maximum depth of 22 m and an average around 18 m. Originally opened as a shelter site for windy days, it has since become a regular site in its own right after a particularly rich spot was found, with good visibility, and it holds up well in rough weather. Calm conditions; suitable from beginner level. Rockfish, damselfish, butterflyfish, angelfish, sakura anthias, fat greenling, pinecone fish, seahorses, frogfish, filefish, gobies, spiny lobster, several crabs and shrimps, squid, longtooth grouper, nudibranchs and a large resident conger eel are typical.
