About this site
Kagura Takane (神楽高根) is a boat-dive pinnacle at Jogashima on the Miura Peninsula, Kanagawa, three minutes from the harbour, with a maximum depth of 28 m and an average around 20 m. Facing Tokyo Bay, it has fast tidal flow near the surface that dies away on the bottom, where five overhanging wave-shaped ridges form a range that runs toward the tip of the Boso Peninsula, gradually deepening. Current is present; intermediate and above. Colourful soft coral hangs in masses from the overhanging ceilings, and the adjoining Kagura Corner brings a steady procession of schooling fish from small baitfish to large pelagics, including amberjack, yellowtail and chicken grunt.
