About this site
Kaji no Hama (梶の浜) is a shallow shore-entry site at Jogashima on the Miura Peninsula, Kanagawa, next to the setup area, with a maximum depth of 7 m and an average around 3–5 m. A rocky spit on the left and an offshore breakwater keep waves down, so it can be dived in anything short of a typhoon, and it is used for open-water training, navigation and buoyancy practice. No current; suitable from beginner level. Guide lines strung 1 m off the bottom mark the diving area, which is divided into sand, rock, eelgrass and kelp zones, each with its own life, and night lighting is installed for night dives.
