About this site
Toragase (姫津 虎ヶ瀬) is a boat-dive wall site at Himezu on Sado Island, Niigata, five minutes from the harbour, with a maximum depth of 30 m and an average around 13 m. Toward the back of the site a crevasse about 1 m wide runs through the rock, its walls thick with gorgonians. Usually no current, sometimes strong; suitable from beginner level. Nudibranchs are the main attraction, with five or more species on a good dive, plus gobies, rockfish, scorpionfish, clingfish and largescale blackfish.
