About this site
Kofuku Jizo (小木 幸福地蔵) is a boat-dive wall site at Ogi on Sado Island, Niigata, five minutes from the harbour, with a maximum depth of 24 m and an average around 16 m. The Ogi coast is a run of drop-offs with strong topography, and this is the only site on Sado where jawfish are seen consistently. Usually no current, sometimes strong; suitable from beginner level. A small Jizo statue dedicated to underwater safety stands at 23 m, and divers customarily leave a coin.
