About this site
Hirakubo (平久保) is a boat-dive wall 20 to 30 minutes from Ibaruma harbour at the north of Ishigaki Island in the Yaeyama Islands, Okinawa, dived year-round at depths of 7 to 40 m. The drop-off topography is dramatic, with fine sea fans scattered along it and schools of pyramid butterflyfish, purple anthias, hawkfish anthias and yellowtail angelfish, plus large fish in winter. Current runs at some spots depending on the tide; intermediate to advanced.
