About this site
Ibaruma Outer Reef (伊原間アウトリーフ) is a boat-dive wall 10 to 15 minutes from Ibaruma harbour on Ishigaki Island in the Yaeyama Islands, Okinawa, dived year-round at depths of 7 to 40 m. The topography is dramatic, with a drop-off and schooling fish: anthias, scalefin anthias, batfish, sergeant majors, striped large-eye bream, purple anthias and fusiliers, with dogtooth tuna and Napoleon wrasse and other large fish in winter. Current runs at some spots depending on the tide; intermediate to advanced.
