About this site
The Horai Ne Wreck (蓬莱根沈船) is the Dai-22 Seikai Maru, lying on a broad bottom of white sand ten minutes by boat from Hahajima in the Ogasawara Islands, Tokyo, with a maximum depth of 22 m. The hull has become an oasis in the sand, home to a huge colony of fish including batfish, spangled emperor, bluestripe snapper, glass cardinalfish, fusiliers and bicolor anthias, with garden eels around it, blotched fantail rays and cleaner shrimp. Current runs at times and the site is suitable from beginner level.
