About this site
O Beach (大ビーチ) is a reef site 15 minutes by boat from Hahajima in the Ogasawara Islands, Tokyo, with a maximum depth of 20 m. It is the place to be surrounded by fish, with yellowfin goatfish, bluestripe snapper, striped large-eye bream, blue tangs, drummers, painted sweetlips, bluespotted stingrays and whitetip reef sharks, and the clean sand also attracts visiting dolphins and whales. The light makes it a regular choice for early-morning dives; when the current runs it is fast, and the site is suitable from beginner level.
