About this site
Zakuzaku (ザクザク) is a reef site 20 minutes by boat from Hahajima in the Ogasawara Islands, Tokyo, with a maximum depth of 30 m. A chain of varied shallow rocks lets the route be tailored to the group, and at the end of winter large aggregations of wrought-iron butterflyfish move across the site, with surgeonfish, blue tangs, unicornfish and stingrays also present. When the current runs it is fast; intermediate and above.
