Injo Kaigan

Injo Kaigan (犬城海岸) is a shore-entry wall site on Tanegashima in Kagoshima Prefecture, with a maximum depth of 30 m, on a coast also known for the Madate no Iwaya rock formation. Two routes are possible: to the left, a wide field of branching coral leads to a table-coral reef and then a drop-off, but the reef flat is so shallow and long that it can only be crossed at high tide. To the right, coarse gravel slopes gradually to around 20 m on the way out to an offshore island, with visibility improving further out and frequent schools of amberjack and bigeye trevally, while blue-spotted stingrays bury themselves in the sand mid-site. Intermediate and above; also used for try dives and courses.
