About this site
Izu Ocean Park Go no Ne (5の根) is a site at Izu Ocean Park, Yawatano, Ito, on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka, with a maximum depth of 25–30 m, for advanced divers, reached from shore or by boat from Futo harbour, with underwater scooters permitted. It is the narrowed tip of the offshore reef south of Ni no Ne, with the Sankaku site beyond it. The terrain is dramatic with a wide depth range and dense fish life, resident longtooth grouper, grouper, angel sharks and banded houndsharks, and in winter deep-water shrimp occasionally rise onto the reef and feed the scorpionfish.
