About this site
Kabuto (カブト) is a boat dive in the Kujukushima islands off Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, about 15 minutes from port, with a maximum depth of 25 m and an average around 15 m. It is suitable from beginner level with little current. The topography is an underwater mountain ridge, with fish schooling year-round; from summer to autumn pelagics and eagle rays arrive and the site becomes busy. Crustaceans, nudibranchs and other macro life are plentiful, and rarer species turn up regularly.
