About this site
Keeper Reef is part of the outer Great Barrier Reef system accessed from Townsville on the north Queensland coast, a stretch of reef commonly visited by day boats and liveaboards operating out of that city. It sits among offshore coral formations northeast of the mainland, in the Coral Sea waters off Townsville, with a maximum depth of around 20 metres. It is generally rated an intermediate dive.
