About this site
Kujira Iwa (クジラ岩) is a boat-dive site off Enoshima on the Shonan coast of Kanagawa, circling a large rock that breaks the surface, with a maximum depth of 12 m and an average around 5 m, suitable from beginner level. Several underwater channels run around the outside of the rock, and the seaward side occasionally draws larger pelagic fish. Typical life includes striped beakfish, filefish and snake eels, with schools of sardines and whitebait near the entry that attract hunting yellowtail, and large abalone on the rock faces.
