About this site
Mansaku (万作) is a boat dive 30 minutes from Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands, Tokyo, combining a coral slope with flat sand, with a maximum depth of 24 m and an average around 12 m. Partway along is a so-called singing rock, where a sound very like whale song echoes underwater. Garden eels, damselfish, wrought-iron butterflyfish, lemonpeel angelfish and great barracuda are seen; current runs at times and the site is suitable from beginner level.
