About this site
The P29 is a former Libyan Navy patrol boat scuttled off Cirkewwa on Malta's northwest coast in 2007 as a purpose-built dive site, sitting upright on sand close to the Um El Faroud and other Cirkewwa area wrecks. It reaches a maximum depth of around 37 metres and is rated an advanced dive over a wreck bottom. The vessel is around 52 metres long and has broken into two main sections over time, with an open structure allowing some penetration for those with wreck experience, though the interior offers minimal light below deck and tight quarters in the swim throughs. Nudibranchs have been spotted on the hull along with the encrusting growth and reef fish typical of this stretch of Malta's north coast.
