About this site
Shark Point, or Hin Musang, sits in the Andaman Sea between Phuket and Koh Phi Phi in the Krabi diving area of southern Thailand. It is a well known site built around a set of submerged limestone pinnacles that break the surface only at their highest point, with the reef dropping to around 18 to 25 metres. The site takes its name from leopard sharks that are commonly seen resting on the sandy patches around the pinnacles, along with soft corals, sea fans, and reef fish typical of the Andaman. It is a protected marine site suitable for a wide range of divers, with the main hazard being boat traffic on the surface rather than current or depth.
