About this site
Sodai Ne (ソウダイ根) is a boat-dive site 5–6 minutes out from Atami on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka, with a maximum depth of 39 m and an average around 6 m, suitable from beginner level. The site is built of two large stages, with a drop-off falling sharply from around 9 m and soft coral cover among the densest in Izu. In the September to December peak season large pelagics visit regularly, making it a site for both terrain and big-fish diving.
