About this site
Ssangjeongcho (쌍정초) is a submerged seamount about 1.9 km north-east of Gwaneumdo, off Ulleungdo's north-east tip, reached by boat in 25-30 minutes. The main peak rises to about 3 m and carries a light beacon; below it the rock falls away as walls to 40-45 m. Visibility is typically 30-40 m and there is almost always current, with large schools of rockfish and big wrasse; divemaster level or above is recommended.
