Sugar Wreck

Sugar Wreck lies off the coast of Terengganu, Malaysia, in the South China Sea, and takes its name from a former cargo of sugar. It sits on a wreck bottom with a maximum depth of around 18 metres, and is rated an advanced dive, with divers noting strong currents around the structure. The wreck has become known for macro life, and divers have reported blue-ringed octopus, harlequin shrimp, seahorses, pipefish, and scorpionfish among the debris, alongside larger reef fish such as grouper, snapper, batfish, and barracuda. Lionfish and pufferfish have also been spotted there. Scorpionfish are worth watching for underfoot as well as on the wreck itself, given their presence is also flagged as a hazard.
