About this site
Tako Iwa (タコ岩) is a U-shaped rock formation 20 minutes by boat from Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands, Tokyo, with a maximum depth of 25 m and an average around 16 m. Pelagics riding the current, including dogtooth tuna and wahoo, are the draw, along with yellowback fusiliers, dark-banded fusiliers and blue tangs. The current is strong and the site is for advanced divers only.
