About this site
Kurone (黒根) is a pinnacle site 25 minutes by boat from Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands, Tokyo, with a maximum depth of 25 m and an average around 14 m. The rock features an underwater arch, and whitetip reef sharks and green turtles rest in its hollows, with drummers and anemonefish nearby. Rounding to the open-ocean side gives a chance of pelagics such as dogtooth tuna; current runs here and the site suits intermediate divers and above.
