About this site
Tanjung Sari lies along Bali's east coast, taking its name from the point or village nearby and reached by local roads that run close to the water. The reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 24.5 metres, rated a beginner dive over a reef bottom despite medium current that divers should watch for. Moray eels are a regular find on the reef, and divers have also reported crocodilefish, cuttlefish, octopus, squid, lobster, sweetlips, trevally, and tuna, along with occasional sightings of eagle rays, mobula rays, Napoleon wrasse, reef sharks, wobbegongs, and even mola mola. Scorpionfish and stonefish have been noted here as well, so care with reef contact is worthwhile, and some divers have described the current as tricky or strong at times.
