About this site
Uro Ne (ウロウ根) is an offshore pinnacle 3 minutes by boat off the south of Hachijojima in the Izu Islands, Tokyo, dived around two large reefs with a cave about 10 m long between them. Goatfish, bluestripe snapper and glasseyes crowd the reefs; maximum depth 26 m, average around 18 m, suitable from beginner level, with current that is sometimes strong. Spanish mackerel, schools of batfish and great barracuda sometimes pass near the surface, soldierfish, redlip morwong, boarfish and damselfish are typical, and anglers may be on the rocks above.
