About this site
Ushima (鵜島) is a boat-dive site 10 minutes out from Kawana, Ito, on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka, with a maximum depth of 20 m and an average around 10 m, for divers who can hold buoyancy, with no current, and open year-round. A huge reef extends east beneath the cormorant rock that gives the site its name, and the area under the buoy is an expanse of white sand like dunes. The northern reef forms a drop-off, and amberjack and yellowtail pass through.
