About this site
Yanbata (ヤンバタ) is a shore-entry site on Hatsushima, the island off Atami in Shizuoka, reached by a 7-minute shuttle from the dive centre, with a maximum depth of 30 m, intermediate and above. Entry is over boulders with no slope, and the dive exits via the slope at Nishimato to the north-east. White sand contrasts with small rock formations, with a stretch at 15–17 m known as the Japanese garden; angel sharks, guitarfish and flounder lie on the sand, and large schools of yellowtail and amberjack pass the short drop-off further out.
