About this site
170-do no Ne (170度の根) is a shore-entry pinnacle at Hayama on the Shonan coast of Kanagawa, reached by an 80 m underwater swim after descending, with a maximum depth of 13 m and an average around 6–7 m. The reef runs from west to east with plenty of relief. No current; suitable from complete beginners. Gobies and wrasse are present year-round, the sand has many burrows shared by dart gobies, shrimp and their partners, and juvenile fish shelter in the kelp.
