About this site
Akamizu (赤水) is a varied dive site in the Makurazaki and Bonotsu area of Kagoshima Prefecture, with a maximum depth of 18 m and an average around 10 m, suitable from beginner level. White sand, coral, boulders and rocky reef are all present, with arches dotted offshore. Sand dwellers are abundant, including shrimp gobies, red bandfish, waspfish and seamoths, and the table coral colonies are impressive.
