About this site
Ohanabatake (お花畑) is a dive site in the Makurazaki and Bonotsu area of Kagoshima Prefecture, with a maximum depth of 10 m and an average around 5 m, suitable from beginner level. Deep in a bay of white sand a coral colony suddenly appears, with cabbage, branching and table corals filling the view. Juvenile butterflyfish and wrasses are diverse, and it is an unhurried site that rewards a full hour of fish watching.
