About this site
Barachin (バラ沈) is a wreck site 20 minutes by boat from Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands, Tokyo, with a maximum depth of 18 m and an average around 12 m. The remains of a ship lie broken into pieces across the sand and act as an artificial reef where reef fish gather, including wrought-iron butterflyfish, anemonefish, batfish, yellowfin goatfish and bluestripe snapper. There is little current and the relaxed site is suitable from beginner level.
