About this site
Hitomaru Inside (人丸インサイド) is a gentle slope of coral reef and sand off Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands, Tokyo, 20 minutes by boat, with a maximum depth of 25 m and an average around 14 m. Whitetip reef sharks often rest in a large hollow in the coral partway along, and the endemic red spiny lobster is regularly seen along with bluespotted stingrays, yellowfin goatfish, striped large-eye bream and Watanabe's angelfish. A gentle current runs; intermediate and above.
