About this site
Bota Ne (ボータ根) is a large fissured pinnacle a two-and-a-half-hour boat run from Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands, Tokyo, with a maximum depth of 28 m and an average around 16 m. Soft coral is abundant and schools of yellowtail fusilier and yellowback fusilier are seen, with red spiny lobster and soldierfish in the rock and Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins in the area. The current is strong and the site is for advanced divers only.
