About this site
Sawara Ne (サワラ根) is a pinnacle site made up of two large rocks, a two-and-a-half-hour boat run from Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands, Tokyo, with a maximum depth of 26 m and an average around 14 m. The tide runs across it, and large fish such as dogtooth tuna and island trevally, as well as Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, appear regularly, with red spiny lobster in the rock. The current is strong and the site is for advanced divers only.
