About this site

Breakfast Bend lies off Bangu Island in the Similan Islands National Park, in the Andaman Sea off Phang Nga province in southern Thailand. The Similans are typically reached by liveaboard or day boat from Khao Lak or Phuket, and the islands are known for granite boulder formations both above and below the waterline. This reef site reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres, is rated intermediate, and sees medium current with generally good visibility. Barracuda, batfish, garden eels, leopard sharks, humphead wrasse, and trevally are all found here, and divers have also reported sightings of angelfish, anthias, bannerfish, damselfish, fusiliers, ghost pipefish, grouper, manta rays, octopus, reef sharks, sea turtles, sweetlips, triggerfish, and unicornfish across the reef.
