About this site
Small (スモール) is a boat dive about 25 minutes out from Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands, Tokyo, with a maximum depth of 30 m and an average around 16 m. The site is built from piled boulders, with swim-throughs beneath the stacked rock and pygmy seahorses between the outlying pinnacles. Whitetip reef sharks are often met here, along with drummers, yellowfin goatfish and bigeye trevally; a regular current runs and the site suits intermediate divers and above.
