About this site
Collins Hill (コリンズヒル) is the least-dived of the offshore sites at Kumomi on the west coast of the Izu Peninsula, Shizuoka, a boat ride of 7 minutes or more. Soft and hard corals cover the reef like a flower bed with anthias hiding among them, and as the northernmost of the three outer sites it is dived mainly for pelagics, waiting near the reef top at around 18 m when the current runs from the north; maximum depth 60 m, average around 20 m, intermediate and above, with current. Longtooth grouper, amberjack, yellowtail, chicken grunt, takabe, eagle rays, giant frogfish and sakura anthias are typical.
