About this site
Hariishi (張石) is the only shore-entry site at Kumomi on the west coast of the Izu Peninsula, Shizuoka. It is a shallow, gently shelving and very calm sandy beach with easy entry and exit, and sunlight reaches the bottom throughout; maximum depth 8 m, average around 5 m, from novice level with no current. Night diving is available every day, and gurnards, flying gurnards, damselfish, black porgy, guitarfish, amberjack, jacks, scorpionfish, sole and moray eels are typical.
