About this site
The Gold Coast Seaway Pipes sit at the entrance channel between the Nerang River and the Pacific Ocean, dividing Main Beach from South Stradbroke Island on Queensland's Gold Coast. Man-made structures such as pipes and rock walls line this dredged shipping channel, which experiences significant tidal flow. The site is a beginner dive reaching a maximum depth of around 20 metres, and divers have reported barracuda, sea turtles, and trevally around the structures.
