The Gold Coast Seaway sits at the northern tip of the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, where the Nerang River channel is stabilised by a rock wall to give boats a passage out to the Pacific Ocean. The Promenade steps refer to an entry point along this rock wall on the eastern side, used by shore divers to access the water without a boat. Diving here reaches a maximum depth of around 12 metres and is rated a beginner site, making it a straightforward shore entry for those starting out.
