About this site
The Scottish Prince lies off the Gold Coast area of Queensland, in the waters near Coolangatta. It was a barque that ran aground in the late 1880s, and the remains have since broken down and scattered across the seabed rather than staying intact. The site now sits at a maximum depth of around 20 metres and is rated an advanced dive, reached by boat from the nearby coastline. Wrecks of this age in shallow exposed coastal water are typically low lying and encrusted, and the scattered nature of the remains here fits that pattern.
