About this site
Gongoro (ゴンゴロウ) is a boat-dive site off Kamakura on the Shonan coast of Kanagawa, with a maximum depth of 16 m and an average around 5 m, suitable from beginner level. The site is a rocky reef whose outline is said to resemble Hokkaido and Honshu, heavily covered in sponges. It is a macro site, with frogfish, pinecone fish, decorator crabs, Ortmann's shrimp and anemone shrimps among the small life found on the rock.
