About this site
Otaka Ne (オオタカ根) is a natural reef about 4.5 km off the Zushi coast on the Shonan coast of Kanagawa, dived by boat, with a maximum depth of 30 m; the rock rises 20 m vertically from the sand. A drop-off on the north side is covered wall-to-wall in soft coral, longtooth grouper and red sea bream are always present, and fish fill the bottom, mid-water and upper water. Occasional current; intermediate and above. The reef is worked as a set of named spots, including Pinpoint, Drop-off, Nudibranch Paradise, North Point, the channel, Soft Coral Garden, South Point and Rock Garden, with anthias, chicken grunt, horse mackerel, cardinalfish, amberjack, yellowtail, stingrays, cobia, seahorses, frogfish, guitarfish, striped beakfish, largescale blackfish and huge flounder among them.
