About this site
Gorgon I lies along the coast near Aqaba, Jordan, on the Red Sea's Gulf of Aqaba, in an area that serves as a common base for dive operators working the reefs and wrecks scattered along the Jordanian shoreline south of the city. The wreck sits over a reef bottom to a maximum depth of about 24 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Fusiliers, grouper, and lionfish are common around the site, and divers have also reported scorpionfish, sea turtles, and stonefish here.
