Hicks Reef sits within the outer reef systems of the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of far north Queensland, in the region east of Cape Tribulation and Lizard Island. Reefs in this part of the Great Barrier Reef are typically accessed by liveaboard out of Cairns or Port Douglas given the distance from the mainland.
