About this site
Koasara (コアサラ) is a boat site off Shikinejima in the Izu Islands, Tokyo, a large hidden reef with its top at 10 m and its base at 40 m. Takabe, chicken grunt and boarfish live around the reef, amberjack and yellowtail amberjack come in after the takabe, and large longtooth grouper are sometimes seen at the base; maximum depth 40 m, average around 20 m, advanced divers only, with current. Anthias schools and emperors are also typical.
