About this site
Nakanoura Kaigan (中ノ浦海岸) is a shore-entry site on Shikinejima in the Izu Islands, Tokyo, calm all year round. Reefs are scattered offshore with anemonefish, domino damselfish and spiny lobster, emperors come in to be fed, and there are plenty of macro subjects; maximum depth 18 m, average around 5–12 m, suitable from beginner level, with no current. It is used for confined-water training and night dives, and gobies, amberjack, white trevally, anthias and cusk eels are typical.
